CONSTRUCTION ALERT: Devon Sewer Improvement Project

NOTE: THIS PROJECT INCLUDES A PARTIAL STREET CLOSURE TO DEVON AVE

Beginning in March, the Department of Water Management’s private contractor will begin the Devon Street Sewer Improvement phase. The private contractor will be installing a critical sewer structure at the intersection of Spokane Avenue and Devon Avenue.

During construction there will be parking restrictions streets may to traffic for safety reasons, but you will always be able to reach your home or business by foot.

Additionally, the eastbound traffic on Devon Avenue will detour at Caldwell Avenue to Cicero Avenue. (See map.) Eastbound traffic is expected to reopen in April.

Updates for Devon Sewer Improvement Project

Next Phase Begins Week of 4/23

 

The work on Devon Avenue is progressing toward Central Avenue.  The crew will be crossing into the Devon and Central intersection on Wednesday, April 18th, weather permitting. 

During this work, left hand turn movements for North and South bound Central will be restricted and there will be no through traffic across Devon by vehicles.  Eastbound and westbound Devon will remain in the current 1 and 1 configuration that it is in now.  
It is estimated that this work will take 4 weeks to complete, which includes base to grade restoration of the roadway. 
It is their intention to have the intersections at Spokane and at Minnehaha opened by this date.  The attached letter will be distributed to the stakeholders by the end of the week.

Construction is underway, and we anticipate completion in late June.
